One of the most telling signs of Spring has got to be a day at the park with a strong hyrbid. Is there a finer feeling than floating out of the house on a warm spring day, pocket full of gummies, meeting buds for a picnic? It seems the closer we are to earth, the further into the atmosphere we can go. NICHOLAS GORHAM takes us way up on this one-of-a-kind walk in the park, revealing her answers to Buds most freshly harvested questions.
What's your favorite album to get stoned to?
Literally every time I've been in stoned in New York for the last twenty years, I listen to Digable Planets' 1993 masterpiece Reachin' (A New Refutation of Time and Space) which, to me, is still the most New York summer album ever. Walking through this city in the summer, high, and listening to that album is one of my absolute favorite things ever.
Tell us about your first kiss.
I was fifteen. It was on a school trip in the bathroom of my hotel room in Paris. I had the hugest crush on this guy who was also named Nick and we were in there drinking and smoking hash and he looked me dead in the eye and said "you wanna kiss" and, all cool like, I just said "yeah" even though I was DYING inside. And then he leaned in and full on made out with me. It was so hot, but to this day, I don't know if he said "do you wanna kiss?" OR "do you want a kiss?" which is the sort of thing I wonder about for decades because I'm insane.
Flower or edibles?
Edibles for sure. My friend makes the best brownies and they always get me through. Eating something has always been better for me 'cause, well, it's eating, but as a born and raised Vancouverite, I'm sure I'm gonna pay a huge price for that answer.
Which actress would play you in a movie about your life?
Angelina Jolie from here to eternity. I feel like that's self explanatory.
Big Spoon or Little spoon?
Both. We all gotta be flexible about this stuff these days. Sometimes I need to be completely enveloped and sometimes I need to take someone over and feel like I'm being useful yet in control. You know, Gemini vibes.
